The TikTok ban includes CapCut. A WHOLE GENERATION of new storytellers under 18 use that for editing in animation, film, & socials. i work with underprivileged kids to make shorts: they didn’t know industry standard programs — cause they cost a TON both in hardware & software — they all used CapCut.

It really can't be stated enough how the AI craze is rooted deeply in utter vitriolic disrespect for the working class. Like I've seen multiple cases of this tech being marketed directly on sticking it to us filthy poors who want things like "benefits" and "fair pay for our labor"

I gotta confess, for years now I've had this gnawing feeling that for a lot of consumers (and even more publishers), all they look for in art is how "polished" it is, and it turns out it might specifically be only the really superficial markers of polish?
It's quite depressing how ai image generators have revealed how few people have any sort of ability to interpret and assess art.
Like this is shit. And full of weird, inhuman mistakes. And someone, several someones probably, went "yep, great, use this".
