The issue isn't whether "Melania" is a good movie or a bad one. It's that one of the richest men in America, with business interests affected by public policy, gave the President's family $75 million to make it. Like that's somehow legal.

this is mueller park in the wedge. the @wedge.live cat tour begins here
look what they’re doing to my beautiful city. this is bovino’s massive armed convoy, rolling through the Wedge, one of the nicest, friendliest residential areas in Minneapolis, doing nothing but posturing, starting fights, and then deploying chemical weapons at a park many children play in

RIP Diana Green 🤍🤍
We lost Diana over the weekend. She'd been drawing comics about and for trans people since the 90s, and spent two decades teaching new artists how broad and interesting the world of comics really was. Always positive. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I won't share donuts with her again.
Sad news - Just heard that Diana Green has passed away. Met her when I got a gig teaching at MCAD where she was teaching Comic Book History. This pic is from the 2024 Autoptic Festival. Her love and enthusiasm for comics was boundless.

Patronize as many of these businesses as you can before and after Friday.
When we started this list of Minnesota businesses taking part in the Jan. 23 economic blackout we didn't realize quite what an undertaking it would be, but we are now at more than 250 and counting.

Keep 'em coming!
List of Minnesota businesses closing for Jan. 23 anti-ICE strike
First announced by faith leaders and unions on Jan. 13, Minnesota businesses have begun announcing plans to join the action.

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

thank you taylor 🐥
i’ve no will to post. just bracing for the next wave.

st paul and minneapolis are feeling miles apart and trapped together. stay safe.
if you don’t live in minneapolis and you’re just watching from afar you need to get familiar with ring theory and stop venting your anger at us, it’s inappropriate and not helpful to have people who do not live here replying to us with negative emotions. stop putting that on us

thank you for saying this. many are too afraid to say anything right now esp here in the cities.
What we are seeing in Minnesota is what authoritarianism looks like in real time. Racism, dehumanization, and state-sanctioned violence are tearing at the foundation of this country.

yep.
Welcome to Minnesota, fuckers. Also this is super disturbing because the ICE agent's assault rifle appears to fire as he falls down.

This was filmed by a friend near Chicago and Lake last night.

The CBS reporter who led the story calls pulling it a "political" decision.
"The decision was made after Bari Weiss, the new editor in chief of CBS News, requested numerous changes to the segment."

This is something else. Lots of respect for @60minutes.bsky.social reporter Sharyn Alfonso for defending the integrity of her work.

What a disgrace for 60
Minutes. The Trump effect destroys every institution it touches.
