It’s ironic that they’re like “if we do ethnic cleansing we’ll have a high trust neighborly society” and then Minneapolis is literally doing high trust neighborly society and they’re like nooooo
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

(OP made the Fred Rogers connection as well, I just added the laser eyes pic.) bsky.app/profile/ebon...
There's a reason why Fred Rogers used the word "neighbor." The older I get, the more powerful I realize "being a good neighbor" is... and I'm not talking about some damn State Farm.

Leftists: the USA is fundamentally an imperialist power.

Liberals: that's not what America is all about!

Conservatives: fuck yeah we're doing imperialism!
Cruz: "When it comes to Greenland, I want to commend President Trump for being single-mindedly focused on America first... I believe it is overwhelmingly in America's national interest to acquire Greenland... the whole history of America has been a history of acquiring new lands and new territories"

Savannas and grasslands once thrived in southern Ontario. An Alderville First Nation conservation project shows what recovery looks like.

Get the details on that, an update on our lawsuit against the RCMP and fresh reporting from The Narwhal in our latest newsletter:

If you believe ICE would heed any sort of restrictions on use of its funding, I've got a complete Epstein file to sell you. MAGA doesn't follow laws, including ones it passes. The ONLY option is for 41 Senate Dems to show 1/1000th the courage of Minnesotans and block cloture vote for funding.

One theory about why the Norse settlements in Greenland collapsed is that they were too xenophobic to listen to the Inuit who could have told them how to adapt to climate change ... just something to think about as a bunch of xenophobic climate change deniers make plans to invade Greenland.

This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)

Democrats will be like "your strategy of opposing fascism pales in comparison to my strategy of focusing on affordability" and then not focus on affordability.

I can see how someone could mistake an ICE vehicle for a toilet since it already has some pieces of shit in it.

Aliens didn't build the pyramids. Aliens came and wanted to build stuff in Egypt, but the Egyptians told them to get lost, and then built the pyramids as a cosmic middle finger to tell the aliens to stay away, which is why we aren't visited by aliens very often.

When I used to do more talks about climate change, a question I used to get a lot was how do I have "hope."

And one time I broke and was there's a right side and a wrong side, and this is like asking me if I would join the nazis if I knew they were going to win.
We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

We have a smaller Latino population, but we have plenty of immigrants -- including a bunch of Somalis (who are the big target in Minneapolis) and Haitians (whose culinary practices they like to lie about).

Feeling called out by the implication that ICE has been comparatively low-key here in Pittsburgh because we've been sufficiently racist for them 😬
I've been telling people that the reason this is happening in no small part is because they see urban white Minnesotans as race traitors. For having a semi-integrated society at all, but also for 2020.
