Fangamer Owner-Employee. Huge nerd that sometimes plays games on stream to raise money for good causes.
I'm lv16. Never nerfed an item iirc, never DM'd for children, never had a big bad killed in 1 round, and never had a TPK.

1. PCs die. They usually get better.

3. I tend to use more goblins than kobolds, but they've popped up now and then.

4. I have a great idea for my next character...
Thought this might be fun for my D&D friends.

I'm level 18. 😋

"We have a right to our flaws."
Column: With federal agents rioting in Democrat-run cities, there's only one answer for residents of Tucson: Blanket resistance against immigration operations. These agents are the tip of the spear of a federal campaign to punish cities and state that don't support Trump. tucson.com/news/local/s...
Tim Steller's column: Code red for Tucson, blue cities to resist federal assault
The immigration raids in blue cities around the country are part of a broader effort at repression against people who didn't vote for Trump.

Yesterday someone specified that I resemble a "young" Mark Ruffalo.

He's nearly 20 years my senior, so I appreciate the distinction. #TodaysRuffalo

New tradition: delete your entire inbox first thing in the new year.

Sorry, old conversations dead. New conversations only.

If it was important, you should have emailed me about it 6-8 weeks ago so I'd have time to archive it properly.

Email threads in December are not real. They can't hurt you.

My dreams feature several distinct locations that I tend to return to each night.

First was familiar-feeling houses and neighborhoods, but it keeps expanding. Recently it's been big, elaborate shopping malls.

Building a persistent world in my dreams featuring a mix of the mundane and the fantastic

What was your biggest impact on the Internet?

I'm not sure if it's the part where I helped raise the bar for video game merch, or if it's the part where I refused to talk to Noelle in Snowdin.
What was your biggest impact on the internet?

Mine was a group effort, but I'm proud of it.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:

Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends.

Make. Friends.
Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

It was conceived as a kind of tower defense campaign where they set up traps to repel invaders, but they pretty much immediately turned it into an RPG about communication and diplomacy.

My players are cool. I love them.
Many eons ago, my husband ran a short D&D game where we all played as goblins trying to defend our cave from nearby humans that kept trying to wipe us out. Because we couldn’t communicate effectively, most of our attempts to negotiate peace were interpreted as aggression. It was really interesting!
We're doing this, gang.

Almost-Daily 40 Year Old Wisdom #3

I’ve learned a few things from being taciturn.

I find it easier to listen when I don’t talk much, for instance, and words can sometimes carry more weight when they're rare.

It can become more difficult to break the habit and speak up when I need to, though.

Almost-Daily 40 Year Old Wisdom #2

I’ve regretted almost every time I’ve spoken or acted out of anger.

I don't know that being 40 has granted me any unique wisdom, but I can probably regurgitate some I've probably picked up from other, smarter people.

Can I generate 365 bits of wisdom? I'm not sure, but I think I'd enjoy the attempt.

So as this first full day of being 40 comes to a close...

Saw a license plate that read MR5POCK, and I spent way too long wondering about this Mrs. Pock person and why she'd make that her vanity plate.

I just read The Poky Little Puppy again for the first time in a while, at my daughter's request.

My previous criticisms stand. The book is nonsense.

Harmless nonsense, at least? But it's pretty boring and repetitive, and though it seems to be trying to say something, I have no idea what that is.

Getting stuck causes players to explore the world.

Dying causes players to think about what they're doing.

An "impossible" situation causes players to learn how the game works and eventually achieve the impossible.

We need to be able to design *some* games around these fundamental ideas.
