It's weird how as soon as Ari quoted this with the most laughably bad-faith and nonsensical interpretation of it possible, a bunch of cis people are now falling over themselves to tell Null she doesn't know shit as a trans person. Wonder what that says about Ari's primary audience and her priorities
Sarah McBride is an excellent example of how identitarian representation in public space cannot be the only metric of value - if given the choice between McBride and a cis white man with reliably good politics I'd pick the latter because her positionality only helps if she uses understanding to act.

I feel like you could do a whole article just about this clip and the history of novelty slavery/servitude (i.e. owning or controlling other human beings specifically for inefficient or superfluous reasons of the ruling classes). I'd love to hear from a scholar about that and get their commentary.
Why would someone pay $20k for a robot controlled by a human in a remote location to do things more slowly and clumsily when the median wage for a maid or housekeeper is $33k per year, which is typically spread across 10-20 households?
