as someone who really loves 1st person survival horror more than other types, village is hands down in my top five favorite games in that genre, it's a super deep experience well beyond the mechanics. the atmosphere alone is impressive.

It was always more of a shorthand for, "There's a group of ideological liberals who value maintaining capitalism in the face of socialism more than maintaining egalitarianism in the face of fascism, or who at least would be dragged under before they considered dropping either." Seems about right.
