The more we find out about deportations, the more it looks like a US government run human trafficking ring. Absolutely disgusting and a clear violation of basic human rights.

There are some key differences, but it’s striking much of Trump’s mass deportation campaign resembles the drug war of the 1980s and 1990s. In this case, then too massive, militarized task forces raided public housing buildings, whole city blocks, and even entire towns on a single warrant.
Though southwestern Idaho was off my radar, the complaint alleges that the govt has also used this dubious legal theory—leveraging criminal arrest warrants for a few individuals into a mass immigration dragnet—in Chicago; Austin, TX; Colo Springs; & Cato, NY. (H/t David Emery of Dover, NH.)
The @ACLU has filed a class action damages suit against federal & state officers over an Idaho immigration raid last October. 200 armed officers raided a horse-race festival, detaining 400 Latinos for 4 hrs. All adults & many teens ziptied & searched.

This raid is what Kavanaugh stops look like in practice. They targeted the track because it was a largely Latino event, & once the site was secured, separated Latinos from others. But as plaintiffs' legal backgrounds demonstrate, racial profiling isn't a reliable indicator of status. Its just racism

All hail the Minneapolis militia. Armed with cell phones, clad in puffers, bathrobes, and pajamas, they hounded the feckless goons wherever they went. The goons did immeasurable damage, but in the end, Minnesota spit them out.

In no universe does giving a 5 year old a cheeseburger AFTER you kidnap his dad and use him as bait to get his mother make you the good guy. And the fact you think it does just highlights how deep into bad guy territory you really are.
Lyons says ICE agents actually "took care" of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos when they detained him, before shipping him off to a horrific Texas ICE facility.

He says ICE officers "comforted him" as they chased his dad, put him in their car to play "his favorite music, then took him to McDonalds."

This doesn't surprise me. Bundy criticized trump's family separation policy during his 1st term on similar grounds. On this issue Bundy has long been consistent. Bundy's loneliness now isn't because he changed so much as the wider militia movement he was a part of did 🧵1/6

💯 Every county in this country could probably identify more than 10 things that need fixing/doing/starting in their boundaries alone.
Once again thinking about how a revived and modernized Civilian Conservation Corps could fix or mitigate a huge swath of this country’s environmental, economic, and social problems.

Some good news. In my experience slumlords & other bad actors in the rental housing arena, like management companies, can rarely be shamed into better behavior. So by the time courts get involved, their petty nastiness is usually on full display in damning paper trails, & judges respond accordingly
