In the 1800s, a slave owner purchased over a dozen people in Georgia and set the foundation for his family’s generational wealth

Generations later, a railroad company owned by one of his descendants is using eminent domain to seize land of Black farmers

It’s so weird if you give it any thought at all. Women need to just stop changing their last name after they get married.

Totally exonerated is guilty as sin in Trump speak
DOOCY: On Prince Andrew, do you think American associates of Jeffrey Epstein will wind up in handcuffs too?

TRUMP: I'm the expert in a way because I've been totally exonerated. That's very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely. I think it's a shame. I did nothing.

DHS is holding a 2-month-old BABY at a detention facility in Texas.

Last night, Juan Nicolás was rushed to the hospital after choking on his own vomit & being unable to breathe.

This demands accountability — not a blank check for more cruelty.
I have an update on Juan Nicolás, the 2-month-old baby detained at Dilley, and his mother.

Many women can’t even get a real ID because of marriage/divorce/confirmation name issues. But sure, they want to have less women voting so it’s nbd

Cases of measles cropped up in two centers for unauthorized immigrants in Arizona and Texas last month. They are almost 1,000 miles apart, yet the centers have one thing in common: They are operated by CoreCivic, a publicly traded detention company with a checkered track record.
Sick Detainees Describe Poor Care at Facilities Run by ICE Contractor
Problems at detention centers operated by CoreCivic extend far beyond recent measles outbreaks.

Electricity cost rant. I forgot to pay last months bill so I had to pay a double bill well over $1000. Then I got a notice in the mail that if they didn’t receive payment they would shut it off. Ok fine. But they also said if they shut it off they would charge nearly $1000 in fees to turn it on.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
