I’ve decided to release my true self with a new profile pic. On Xitter (pronounce that as you like) I used a CW general. But now I’m using LT Douglas Campbell USAAS, 94th Aero Squadron, because I really am a #WWI #Aviation nerd.

Campbell was the first US-trained pilot with a US squadron 1/2

Seditious Six sounds like a Quentin Tarantino movie where a failing government administration is losing it’s mind because six lawmakers grew a spine and said out loud, “Sorry about your authoritarian fever dream, we took an oath to the Constitution. Kindly STFU.”

The #FBI should read the Constitution of the United States before they attempt to question any sitting member of the Congress:

Art. I, Sec. 6 says, “for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.”

#Antitrust

Does Trump (mis)using federal funds to buy a stake in Intel, and other companies, de facto immunize them from antitrust enforcement? The admin. certainly won’t let the DOJ or FTC investigate a government-owned corp. And contractors are arguing for immunity so why not govt-owned corps?

My wife and I are looking at a new TV. There's a 75" that will fit in the space we have, and it will set us back less than $800.

When I was in jr. high (c. 1972), my parents bought a new TV, our first color set. It was 19" and cost just over $400.

In today's dollars, that 1972 TV cost $3400!!!🤯

There’s an old saying in Congress that the people on the other side of the aisle are the opposition, and those on the other side of the building are the enemy.
Breaking: The House voted unanimously, 426-0, to strip a provision in the funding bill that allowed senators to sue the government for $500K if their phone data was searched without their knowledge.

The provision was designed for GOP senators to sue over the Jack Smith investigation.

It turns out, Trump's bimbo du jour only showed the indictment to the foreperson of the grand jury before signing it and presenting it to the court.

1) She should be disbarred.

2) She should be personally liable for all of Comey's legal fees.

3) The case should be dismissed with prejudice.
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

This is a graph of a house purchase affordability index I constructed using data on median household income, mortgage rates, and the house price index. More detail in the alt text.

Housing affordability is at its worst in the past 40 years.

Trump now says Republicans can vote to release the Epstein files.

He never urged Republicans to support the discharge petition. He never demanded Mike Johnson swear in Adelita Grijalva. But now, after reports indicate 100+ GOPers are planning to support their release, he caves.

Saying you’re “sober” when you still do psychedelics and hallucinogenics (DMT) is like alcoholics saying they’re sober while doing shots of grain alcohol.

GOP lie and some data:

GOP Lie: "Health care costs are out of control!!!"

Data: Pre-ACA, the CPI for medical care was rising at 5% per year, vs 3% per year for the overall CPI.

Under the ACA, the CPI for medical care has risen at 2.6% vs 3% overall.

Democrats need to start calling out GOP BS.
November 12, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Two reasons why Trump proposes to give the ACA subsidies directly to people:

1) The government has big bargaining power and individuals have none so health insurers will be able to charge higher prices for crappier policies which will earn them higher profits.

2) See reason 1.

Why the 50-year mortgage is for suckers: 🧵

Trump is pushing a 50-year mortgage as a way to address housing affordability. It's a gimmick. I know, you're shocked! Shocked, I say!

Here's why. The current rate on a 15-yr mortgage is abt 5.5% and it's abt 6.2% on a 30-yr.
