This is a great photo showing of the bioluminescent arm tips of an Octopoteuthis deletron, but it still looks to me like a squid showing of its freshly painted nails...

Another old dive clip for your eyeballs. Cirroctopus I think? I remember it had those weird lumps on the back of the mantle, but idk what those are. Injury? From @schmidtocean.bsky.social dive 606 #mappinggalapagosvents #MarineLife

Look we all love a nuns having fun calendar, but @megstampede.bsky.social and I would like to suggest something a little different for next year.

The love notes from nature calendar has animal facts for every month *and* a way to help those animals!

Get em at SquidFacts.net!

It's crazy how cute octopuses are. Like there is no way I could say no to those eyes...

I have a testimonial for @sarahmackattack.bsky.social's Eel Facts Advent calendars (which can also be any old b-day countdown calendars!) 2 13-year-olds walked into our kitchen (first time visiting us), shouted "Eel facts!" simultaneously and started reading the facts together

Honestly this is how I’ve felt all week. Not sad though just tiiirredddd
Taonius borealis has a special place in my heart because of this one photo. It looks so sad that it just tugs at the heart strings.

Why are you sad, Taonius borealis? I hope you feel better soon...

this is a weird one. discussing with a few folks and current theory is that this is batoteuthis skolops, a really obscure chiroteuthid from antarctic and subantarctic waters, notable for having strange tentacle clubs (missing in this individual) and a very long, tapered mantle fin
Maybe Gonatus, but this one looks weird. @schmidtocean.bsky.social dive 867 #asgardarchaea #MarineLife
