Wanna go south on Fisher Ave this AM? @helps.octranspo.com says "nuh-uh!"

Hopefully everyone who takes transit to their workplace in the Deakin / Auriga area left an hour earlier than they normally do today so they won't be late.

Seriously though, how is this acceptable?

On today's episode of "Go Nowhere and Be Happy in the NCC" we have:
- major collision on the 417 EB near Pinecrest
- line 1 ventilation issues at St Laurent
- medical emergency in the downtown tunnel

Half the highway and half of line 1 is down!! Have fun everyone! ;)

I am not done being angry at the Ford government for cancelling supervised consumption sites, bike lanes and speed cameras. And now I have to muster the energy to fight this new attack on everyone who rents their home in Ontario.

I hate it here.

Ontario bill would look at ‘alternative options’ for ending residential leases, scrap Toronto green roof bylaw. Here are the highlights
The Ford government has tabled an omnibus bill that would make changes to a whole suite of laws and regulations, from green roofs to tenant evictions and driver’s licences.

Landlords want permission to evict people without cause (who have faithfully paid their rent) so they can jack up the rent and make more money.

The Ford government is planning to give it to them.

This is going to evict so many people into homelessness, especially seniors. Truly sociopathic.
“We’ve heard from stakeholders that these evergreen leases that just go on with no end in sight may not be appropriate.”

I have some retired family members who can only afford rent right now because they're on old leases. But to hell with them! Think of the stakeholders! 🤮

Forgot @helps.octranspo.com is the account I should tag. Whoops.

Also learnt today that this was the same supervisor that called the cops on my friend for "suspicious activity"; she was just hanging out with a friend near the Blair bike parking...

This is unacceptable behaviour for an OC employee.
Shoutout to the @octranspo.com supervisor who basically told me to shut up when I was trying to update him on the status of the air leak on my friend's bus.

If bus 4719 dies while in service, let it be known that there WAS an issue reported at ~02:30 on 2025-10-19 and nothing was done about it.

BTO is fighting for a transit system that is useful and reliable by focusing on smaller scale projects and changes to internal operations. We support bus lanes on corridors such as Bank St and Carling Ave, and we are working on solving the bus shortage.

100%. The “balanced” approach is simply the adherence to a status quo that will only get worse as the population grows and transit remains under-supported. And the TMP we’re set to approve next week perpetuates more of this.
Today it took 20 minutes to get down Elgin and another 50 to get to Bells Corners by car. A balanced approach to our transportation network gets us all nowhere fast. We need to shift our investments to give people who want to get out of cars a real choice. Show me who is happy moving around Ottawa.
