look, if we don't stand up for Canada Post, governments of the future will claim transit organizations need to be profitable, and hospitals need to be profitable, and schools need to be profitable, and they'll chop up as much of the public trust as they can and sell it to their friends for nothing.

New Brunswick figured it out before us? New Brunswick? This is a real low point. Yeah, this one hurts.

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

I recognize the irony of my question given that I do a lot of RT and QT and replies with little original content. But: I need a bsky client or means of deduplication; I see so many posts reposted into my feed again and again, and I want to skip the repeats and see new content. Suggestions?

I'm sorry for linking to the middle of this thread, but I cannot emphasize enough that this account has clearly articulated the same devil's bargain that we have here in Canada with the CPC/LPC duopoly. The leaders of the LPC fundamentally don't disagree with conservatism, just presentability.
And this is a pretty easy mistake to make because they assume their base and then the left (which they typically hate) HAVE to vote for them, and if they all just did they figure they could simply get the overwhelming lock they desire - even though they stare at victory and ignore it every cycle.

I saw someone say that the Democrats are Good Cop to the Republicans' Bad Cop, and I think that's a perfect encapsulation of why so many people voted for a Bad Cop that would burn it all down. I think we have the same dynamic in Canada with the Liberals and Conservatives.

That's it. That's it exactly.
Basically the Democrats are the good cop in a Good Cop Bad Cop routine.

If the citizenry are acting like insurgents, it means the government forces are acting like they're at war.
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

A reminder; seven Vancouver cops beat an unarmed man to death in 2015 and none of them have been held accountable.

Part of the rise of fascism is allowing police violence to go unpunished. It is happening in Canada as well.

Canadians, remember, these people are already here in Canada. They are already organizing. The conditions for their organization and growth have been fostered not only by the US regime, but by decades and decades of Liberal and Conservative erosion of the relationship between government and society.
For those who don't know, remigration is a European far-right concept of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white minority populations.

I took this photo today in SASKATOON within hours of the ICE remigration Gestapo executing another person in the US.

So you know that the Trump regime is going to belittle the Minnesota general strike. That's the only thing they know how to do. That, and violence.

One of my soapboxes is that this place has never been a "white homeland." This is Indigenous land! Native nation and people have been here since before the glaciers receded.

Every group the fascists are tormenting has a 500 year history here. Black Americans are not alone in that thanks to empire.
