Not to fail to mention that another reason it's ignored and downplayed is that Black and Brown people have been disproportionately affected by Covid too.

Sick of it, these ignorant bozos encouraging violence, blocking them all. You know, MLK wasn't lying and wasn't just messing around. TRUTH: There's only one force that can overcome hate—and it ain't violence.

And no doubt, a reason that Long Covid is dismissed, downplayed and under-researched.
Women are 3x times more likely to develop long COVID.
Researchers found gut leakiness, inflammation, anemia, and hormone imbalances in women with long COVID (including lower testosterone and cortisol). These factors may help explain why long COVID affects women more.

Much of anti-trans rhetoric is meant to make cis people believe that their interests and trans people’s interests cannot be met at the same time. As the ad from trump’s reelection campaign put it, transphobes want cis people to think that someone who cares about “they/them” could never be for “us.”
Democrats Can’t Blame Trans People for Their Own Failures
Despite the attempts by so many in the party’s establishment to paint trans rights as a toxic issue, transphobia was soundly rejected across the country this week.

OK, where are we on the SNAP benefits cases?
Two things happened this morning:
* DOJ told SCOTUS they're still fighting to stop full November SNAP benefit payments, via their stay request at SCOTUS
* District court judge in Mass. stayed USDA's 11/8 memo ordering states to "undo" full payments

I'll say it again and again, #ILLEGAL is the point.
To Trump, the illegality of his unilaterally imposed tariffs seems to be a feature not a bug — part of a concerted effort to barrel through the remaining checks being placed on executive power by Congress and the Supreme Court. bit.ly/4qGlrqf

Anywho, amid all this, here's the latest update I got: Shapiro and Democrats may agree to end a statewide program to cap carbon from power plants to appease Senate Republicans and end the 130+ day budget impasse.

The Aedes aegypti mosquito that can carry dengue was thought to be too reliant on a hot and wet climate to survive in the Mountain West. But now, a population is thriving in Western Colorado.

Interesting and important.
Anecdotally, I have also noted that folks haven't been pushing for politicians and electeds to address it.
It's a "kitchen table issue" in my own house, Democrats.

The Post (me and @kcrowebasspro.bsky.social) analyzed the social media posts and appearances of prominent politicians across the country.
We found that no one is talking about climate change anymore. In 2025, mentions are 60% lower than in 2024.

This weekend, USDA sent letters to states and DOJ submitted filings in court threatening states that fully funded SNAP benefits for November with penalties if the states don’t listen to USDA and “undo” the payments.

This week Democratic voters pulled off a miracle. (Again.). What do we get, immediately? First Cornell capitulates. Now Schumer & Co. appear about to.
The problem isn’t us, it’s them.
The problem isn’t us, it’s them.
This is part of the tragedy of a surrender now. It invites more pain and suffering by emboldening the regime. Why should they listen to a weak opposition?
Schumer and the Dems are about to teach Trump the lesson that they’ll cave whenever he abuses power to sufficiently hurt people.
