It’s all for show and nothing more. Definitely not making things better or safer.
Further confirmation from ICE HSI officers that they have been told to stop investigating pedophiles, human traffickers, and drug smugglers.

Officers have been told NOT to take new criminal cases so they can instead go round up more random migrants. Morale is plummeting, especially at HSI.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Adding this here as a reminder when eventually “conservatives” start complaining about the budget and deficits when democrats are in charge again

This is it. This is precisely it.
A horrible story but god bless this woman so accurately reading the ICE goons for filth here

Curious if other people that wear glasses just hope the hairstylist cuts it right and isn’t making eye contact when your glasses sit there on the counter.

They’re probably thinking this awkward dude who just stares off was quite surprised at the end that his hair looked different than the start

Our amazing Saint Paul Urban Teacher Residency program felt this cut early on. Financial barriers are real and necessary to address if we want to recruit and support teachers that share the loved experiences of our students
The teacher shortage is real and it’s hitting our most vulnerable communities the hardest.

Instead of investing in solutions, the Trump administration cut federal grants — including some in MN — designed to recruit and retain educators in high-need areas. That $ remains in limbo pending an appeal.
Cancellation of Federal Teacher Grants Harms Retention Efforts | NEA
The grants cut by the Trump administration had been aimed at solving the teacher shortage, especially in poor and rural communities.

This is going to get worse, not better. Never underestimate the American public’s thirst for performative cruelty towards The Other: defendants, foreigners, anyone they’ve been conditioned to see as less than human. We’re the country that made lynchings into picnics.
