"Today we remember that freedom is not free. We have to work at it, nurture it, protect it, and even sacrifice for it. May we never forget and always remember our brothers and sisters who have served so that we may enjoy the gift of freedom."

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

This is insane not just the explicit "go break the 4A" substance but how they knew how bad it was, acting in guilty paranoia to cover it up and suppress the written evidence.

This isn't how running a government agency works. This is what a criminal conspiracy looks like, because that's what it is.
🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

"Don’t let anyone make you feel stupid for demanding justice. Don’t let anyone tell you we can’t have accountability. If someone in power tells you that, tell them to resign so someone who will stand up for the people can take their place."
"Here are the demands we all need to make: Use the National Guard to protect our citizens. Arrest agents who commit crimes. Charge police, National Guard, and ICE with crimes when they commit or refuse to stop them. . . . Do it now."

Trump pointed a violent gang of thugs at Congress on Jan 6. Now he has done the same to all of us.

Congress had their own police force to protect them. We don't.

Congress had the ability to take away Trump's power with a simple vote. We don't.

What we have is our voice and our morals. Use them.

If calling a state secret police agent a murderer for committing murder will lead to more murder by the state secret police, it sure seems like the problem is with the secret police
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

I don't see what could go wrong with the US going to war with Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Iran, Yemen, Mexico, Canada, Greenland, Denmark, and all of NATO simultaneously, while also pissing off Russia, China, and all of OPEC.

But maybe withdraw troops from Minnesota, California, and Illinois?

Abolish ICE.

Prosecute murderers.

Impeach this entire criminal administration.

Apologize to the world.

Seize the assets of those who corruptly profited from this nightmare.

Make amends where possible.

Build a better society.

Breathe.

I can't breathe.

I honestly thought the next big war for oil would be someone invading a country with oil reserves to stop the drilling and reduce climate change. Instead Trump wants to force Venezuela to vastly increase oil drilling and accelerate the planet's destruction, because we are led by psychpaths.

All those hours-long meetings with Putin recently that were supposedly about Ukraine but got nowhere? Those were actually about preparing for our invasion and occupation of Venezuela.

The US is Putin's biggest client state, bought and now paid for.
During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Getting out in front of this now, but any federal judge that doesn’t immediately dismiss this indictment, release Maduro (at least ostensibly) and begin contempt proceedings against the attorneys in front of him is complicit. These federal judges don’t have to be tools of the regime.

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.
