Mount Kilauea a week ago. It was awe inspiring to experience the enormity of the volcano eruption.
We got as close as we could and didn’t want to leave. Two hours later, at midnight we had to trek back to our car. Well worth the effort!

As the sun sets, Mauna Kea in Hawaii casts a shadow on the clouds below. Very cool view!

The night walk to view the Kilauea eruption found the clouded sky set ablaze with the fiery lava erupting below. Quite eerie!

Hawaii Pololū Valley Lookout. The lengthy drive to this dead-end location was worth the extra time to encounter. The view is one of the best on the big island, even saw some whales!

The big island of Hawaii is diverse as it is gorgeous. One of the highest points is Mauna Kea, where several scientific observation research stations are positioned in the frigid area above the clouds to view the depths of space. Here we find breathtaking sunsets and clear views.

What we do might seem a drop in the ocean, but beyond our actual actions it is this attitude that is valuable, & equally so: One that learns, learns from others & cares about them, their future, our world. One that thinks outside our own advantages & pockets.

@colbertlateshow.bsky.social,
I named my new kitten Colbert, not because you’ve had me on your show. Truth is, you should’ve had me on more. I named him after you because you ARE a goddamned American hero. Thank you.

Burrow’s Island lighthouse, Washington.
On a boat tour to a whale watch expedition, I snapped this photo. Cleaned it up a bit in Photoshop, to help the lighthouse pop!

Deception Pass, Washington.
Interesting how each side of the bridge/pass is quite different. One might say, it’s rather deceptive 😏

This was a lot of fun to color while using some new techniques. Love the cute seahorses and turquoise blue color is my favorite!
Coloring book is from Johanna Basford, Lost Ocean. I colored with pencils from Prismacolor and Castle Arts, white gel pen is Gelly Roll.

We will not win the battle for democracy if those in the pro-democracy movement prize caution over taking risks. We cannot permit ourselves to be deterred by the inevitable defeats and public criticism that are inevitable along the long path of restoring democracy.

Justice Riggs is right. We should not have to fight for democracy. But the reality is that we must.

The fatal crash of a Mexican Navy ship into the historic Brooklyn Bridge has left New Yorkers stunned.

The ship’s captain lost control due to a mechanical issue, according to Mayor Adams, causing the naval training ship’s tall masts to hit the bottom of the bridge connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Glad to complete this on Mother’s Day, and for having the time to do it since the fam took over all responsibilities today!

Used Ohuhu markers, white Gelly Roll pens, black Pigma pens, and a few Castle Arts pencils.
