Good morning, while everyone is waiting for the budget to be announced it’s a good time to say that immigration is a source of prosperity for the UK and painting Britain as a hostile state is sabotaging the country. Thanks!

Three reasons to avoid cutting back dead stems and seed heads this winter:
🐞 Hollow stems provide homes for hibernating insects, such as lacewings and ladybirds
🌻 Birds feed on seed heads like teasels, sunflowers and thistles
❄️ They look good when dusted with frost or snow!

Back home.

This is for the young lady I spoke with in Krakow station, asking if we were on the right platform for the airport.

She was going there too, at 7.00 on a Sunday, to meet her father (flying for the first time) & help him through security.

As many of you know, I do a lot of volunteer work with asylum seekers and refugees. One thing that’s going on is that Labour’s hostility towards migrants and the counterbattery from Tories and Reform is causing horrific fear and anxiety among vulnerable people who deserve our protection.

It doesn't eliminate *all* traditional yard work, but it's amazing how much nature will actually do for you if you let it. This is especially true for traditional fall tasks. (Also: you do not need to "cut back" most things and in fact it's better for them if you don't.)
For the bees! (Honestly a lot of insects rely on leaves)
