The Renters’ Rights Bill is back before Parliament today.

This long overdue legislation contains new measures that will provide renters with basic security and place some basic responsibility on landlords.

I’ll be voting for several amendments to strengthen it.

The government tried to keep the membership of - and the advice being offered by - its scientific advisory group secret. They essentially told the public they were “following the science” while ensuring the public couldn’t check up on this claim. 4/8

In early 2020, a pandemic was spreading. The UK’s PM went on a 10 day half-term holiday during which he was uncontactable and the government went into panic mode, focusing, as Hancock related to the COVID enquiry, on buying enough body bags. 1/8

Great to see more and more people backing the campaign to ban trophy hunting imports.

How we treat animals is a reflection on who we are as a society - that's why it's so disappointing that importing hunting trophies into this country is still legal.
