Andy Fillmore posted to FB yesterday about the upcoming budget season... while his post was fairly benign, the comments are... well... something. Suggestions include: removing bike lanes, removing plowing sidewalks, fire some city workers as we have too many, and of course lots of talk about taxes.

A creepy part of my childhood!
Woody The Talking Tree has awakened from his slumber to usher in another Christmas season.
While he may seem slightly unsettling, all Woody asks for is Cinnabon sacrifices.
But where did he come from?
This is the story of Woody The Talking Tree.

Come visit the Mall tomorrow at 10am for my triumphant return and be sure to bring the kids! No reason why they shouldn’t get to experience the same talking tree induced trauma you seem to wax nostalgic about.

I mean, MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎩

Meanwhile, back in Toronto...
Councillor Holyday worries about retail stores that "sell some zany thing that has very little value." He wants to know if council could define a list of what stores can sell.

Staff say they can regulate things like size, noise and property standards, but generally not what stores sell.

If you are in HaliSky right now, DO NOT try to go anywhere on the 102.
I don't know what happened but you will be traffic and you will not move very quickly.

Thank you to everyone who replied about the Advent calendars (for adults). We ended up getting the Bonne Maman one (ordered it through London Drugs on the west coast since I am not 100% sure Bonne Maman will restock this year). It's mostly vegan so works fine for us, only 4 or 5 items that aren't.

Now munching on Swedish Fish since we only got 14 trick or treaters. We'll keep the candy bowl open for another while yet but usually after 8 we get no one, not even teens. But it's not a school night tonight so we'll see!

Is anyone in Halifax/Dartmouth having their normal amount of Trick or Treaters this year? So far we are MUCH quieter than usual, with lots of small groups skipping our house (and our side of the block) entirely.

Plant Based Canadians - anyone know of any cool advent calendars this year? For adults. Already know about Moo Free and No Whey. Purdys and Squish are not doing theirs this year.

Generally has to be ordered now-ish, so talking about it before Halloween out of need lol

Been interesting watching people talk about 'what to do about the big storm on Halloween' in various places. I'm hoping the worst of it will be over so kids (and parents with them!) might get a little damp but not soaked. Meanwhile, we'll give out handfuls of candy if the storm is bad! 😂 #HaliSky
