Self-editing tip for #authorsky : Find Your Extraneous Thats!
1. Do a “find” search for the word “that”
2. Pick a random sentence you’ve found
3. Read it aloud
4. Now, read it aloud again, but eliminate “that”
5. Does it still make sense?
6. If so, delete “that”
7. Repeat 1-7

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and the services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend money is so important to so many people

It would be a shame to encourage folks to use banned book lists to do strange things like
-check them out regularly at the library
-request the library order them if they don’t have them
-buy them
-start or support banned book clubs
-organize a banned book kids story time
A real shame

Has anyone else had an issue w your physical 📚 book shopping cart contents disappearing when you buy an ebook from bookshop.org ? So… that just happened. I’m desperately trying to recall everything I was planning to order next payday so I can refill that cart 😩 #booksky

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library
