Holy hell. DHS just openly stated that its agents use “reasonable suspicion” to make ARRESTS. This is blatantly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is clear that you need probable cause to arrest someone, as opposed to stop them to ask them a question or two. This is huge b/c…

This. The narratives or arguments that separate out “criminal” from “innocent” immigrants (this includes when media and politicians emphasize stories of “perfect victims”) are bad—it implies that some people are actually deserving of criminalization and deportation, of cruelty and violence.

It was helpful for me to realize that when people insist that Israel isn’t committing a genocide, they tend not to be denying the reality what Israel is actually doing in Gaza, but changing what the word “genocide” means so that what Israel is doing isn't that.
