It’s amusing how the US business elite still thinks it’s 1968 and there’s an abundance of useless regulations we can trash when all what we have now is the stuff written in blood

My view continues to be that the US has in power a movement dedicated to ending democracy & replacing it with consolidated one-party authoritarian rule under the Republican banner. They are currently struggling to do that because of the US political system's complexity & their own incompetence.

Trump doubles down on his Rob Reiner attack: "I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person... He became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country."

A recurring theme:

Fire sci and tech experts, including some on public service leave from the private sector. Announce policy goals requiring expertise. Realize you don't have the institutional capacity to govern. Create a new program to recruit those same experts back into government.
The White House today unveiled a new AI-focused "Tech Force," in an apparent attempt to pick up the pieces after Musk's DOGE swept through the federal government and wiped out existing tech expertise.

The president is using this apparent family tragedy, which as far as we know had absolutely nothing to do with him, to convey the message that if his fans brutally murder his critics, they will receive his support and approval.
Q: A number of Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it?

TRUMP: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.

Jared Kushner holds no senior Senate-confirmed post in the US government. He is the son-in-law & business partner of the president. This is unprecedented, massive corruption & media outlets should treat it as such.
