… you’re still thinking about the labour party’s authoritarian attacks on our justice system aren’t you?
It comes after our @jessicaelgot.bsky.social revealed that criminals will be stopped from “gaming the system” by choosing trial by jury to increase chances of proceedings collapsing - and that govt was planning radical changes to limit jury trials by next election.

can we all just find a way to go back to living off the land, growing food and restoring nature far away from any freaks who think this sounds good? i don’t want to be involved in any of it, and am happy to be left behind, even if this nonsense was as revolutionary as they say it is (which it isn’t)
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

iphones would have to have been universally adopted in 2008, and somehow have got less addictive and distracting over time, for this to make any sense
Not saying people stare at their phones like zombies, but there was a pretty life-changing product launch in 2007

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

cringing at this attempt to sound hard from someone who at best has the air of a villain in wallace and gromit
Green MP Carla Denyer accuses Shabana Mahmood of trying to "out Reform Reform" and says "toxic racist narratives and the scapegoating of migrants" are to blame for "tearing our country apart" not migrants.

Mahmood: "I couldn't care less what any other political party has to say about these matters"

deeply baffling man
“on article 8 of the ECHR in particular the right to family life ..we want to constrain in legislation the way that that is applied in immigration cases” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood tells Sky’s Trevor Philips

Who would have imagined we would ever hear this from a Labour government

the CEO of north west england speaks
He's right. Just because I might prefer Zacks populist policies to Nigels doesn't make any of it more achievable.
The current government have inherited an absolute mess snd it is going to take adults a long time to sort it out.

the language of remembrance is about noble sacrifice and serves to legitimise slaughter past and present, it’s ridiculous to couch it as something apolitical and personal when it is quite evidently organised top-down and rigorously policed
One of the most precious things about Remembrance is that it sets no political tests.

It asks only that we "remember", and that we do so in the silence of our own thoughts.

It doesn't dictate what we remember, how we remember or what lessons we draw.

That's between ourselves and our conscience.🧵

to be fair their policy of self-imploding and completely cratering all support for the party could genuinely be life-changing

imagine being a labour mp parachuted into an arbitrary northern seat by the leadership and indulging in this authentocrat nonsense. obviously this is one of the most shameless men in britain but come on
When your politics are awesomely popular with an enthused and passionately supportive public, and you personally are beloved by all

wonder if anyone earnestly listens to that “darling hold my hand” song outside of the jet2 advert

fiona bruce consistently shuts down panellists on question time when things get a bit heated. quite apart from anything else, surely it is better TV to let them argue?
A UK presenter shouldn’t crow about an audience’s ignorance of Nathan Gill who took bribes from Kremlin agents & was a close ally of Farage . It shows they have failed to do their job . What next , telling us that Watergate was one of the lowest points in investigative journalism 🥺 ?
The Nathan Gill scandal should be huge news so why has the British media been mainly silent about it? (I think we know 🤔)
Here's Fiona Bruce shutting down any mention & acting like the audience aren't interested.
