Savanah Royals by Lindsay Barrett is so good.

I read it with my physical eyeballs on Fated Mates recommendation. (I’m normally an audiobook only girly) I was worth the extra effort for my dyslexic brain.

Dark and Sexy and Romantic. Would recommend. Want a whole Wolves series.

I feel like there must be some sort of MacBeth witch style prophecy about how the downfall of the corrupt will come when the grasses move on astroturf.

Am I the only person on earth who has never heard of Jacob Elordi?

People are acting like I should know.

@jenreadsromance.bsky.social Did you have to scream into a pillow when Lisa Kleypas had your exact same take on Heated Rivalry's show success? Romance superiority!

I think the phrase “pun intended” might have been my first clue that some people know what they are going to say before they say it.

I just finished listening to Mimi Matthews’ second book in the Crinoline Academy, “The Marriage Method”. It was a delight.

Thanks Heated Rivalry-

I love that non-romance-people are getting wise to how powerful the use of first names is after exclusively using last names.

The best question I’ve EVER been asked in an interview is if I’d rather go back in time to meet my ancestors or forward to meet my descendants. I said forward because I want to ask those babies what else I can do to be a good ancestor for them.
And if you truly have none, you can be the person you wish your ancestors were
Respectfully, I am going to whisper to some of our white comrades a truth that should be more widely known: You definitely have some ancestors to be proud of, ancestors who refused white supremacy, and poured out their lives in many of these struggles over time.

Time to claim your true history.

Am I filled with rage because
a) My period is in a week.
b) I just moved and everything is disorganized and still in boxes.
c) I’m four days without my ADHD meds because they are lost somewhere in my own house.
d) all of the above.

You guessed it!

Listening to the latest @ifbookspod.bsky.social episode they list Musk’s major romantic relationships.

Never hearing of Grimes before, I briefly glitched and pictured Gritty.

And for a second I was thinking…I mean, maybe?

I’ve had enough to drink tonight to admit to my small and disinterested band of followers that India Holton and Freya Marske write the way I would want to write if I was brave enough.

They ‘Take the Finger’ as Fated Mates would say.

This is devastating. Her books are delightful and a big part of why I got back into reading as an adult.
Sophie Kinsella has passed away at 55.

Her Shopaholic books were among the most prominent of what was called "chick lit."

Their popularity changed genre fiction.

How terribly, terribly sad.

I’ve been doing a LOT of furniture shopping lately. I’m least impressed by nightstands. The bar seems low, but there isn’t a lot of variety or innovation in the space.

If you like the “smart people who are into each other” & “Academia is kinda messed up hu?” element of Ali Hazelwood’s books. Then I highly recommend “An Ornithologist Field Guide to Love” by India Holton. It is all that and made me guffaw.

Society: we must find out what to do with retired stuffies. My daughter has a truly haunting number of stuffed animals and I am feeling stuck.

First thoughts: insulation for homes? Recycled into blankets or jackets for the un-housed?

These are all delightful. It is a rare contemporary romance that makes the cut for me, but all of these are terrific.

The new-to-me “Below Stairs” mystery series by Jennifer Ashley is great!

My only complaint is the audiobooks are so compelling that I am burning through them at a shocking pace and hitting my library and personal budget limits too fast.
