kenny albert loves talkin about dudes. doesn’t matter if the u.s women’s hockey team is in a tight semifinal at the olympics, he’s gonna talk about some dudes.

Just once, I would love to see one NFL game that talks as much about the players' kids as every women's hockey broadcast does.

Is there anything more frustrating than when streaming content is all glitchy and low quality, then it goes to commercial and they're fine?

They've been making Hawaiian shirts for most of a century and they still haven't figured out to make more of the big sizes and less of the small ones.

What's the conversation like when TV folks want to put a heart monitor on athletes' family members so we can watch their panic level? I can't imagine a scenario where I don't tell them to shove that monitor somewhere.

Relevant to nothing, but found while looking for something else:

Rutgers, Oregon and Maryland men's basketball teams are a combined 0-31 in Quad 1 games this season and 26-13 in all others.

One of the last pieces I write all year is also one of the most important ones. Take a moment today to remember the players with Brewers, Milwaukee Braves and Wisconsin connections we lost this year:
2025 in Memoriam
Ten former Milwaukee Brewers and six former Milwaukee Braves are among those who passed away this year.

For context: The Brewers' 70 full shares is closer to the low end of the spectrum (the Phillies gave out 64) than the high end (the Red Sox gave out 91).
It’s a merry Christmas for the players and staff who earned postseason shares.

From @feinsand.bsky.social

The Brewers and Mariners took home a pool worth $15,382,339.80 each. Milwaukee handed out 70 full shares worth $168,852.75 each (plus 17.66 partial shares). www.mlb.com/news/2025-ml...
2025 postseason shares pool just shy of record-setting '24 total
For the second straight year, the Dodgers will receive a nice bonus to go with their World Series rings. Los Angeles’ 2025 postseason shares were worth $484,747.57 each, part of a total pool worth nea...

There might not be anybody in sports who gets less from more and then blames it on his players quite like Penny Hardaway.

One of the routine defenses of the Brewers' low payroll is that they spend money on stuff like this. So now that they don't have to/can't we should expect a big influx of spending, right?

The Giants, who missed the postseason by just two games, got the #4 pick in the 2026 Draft.

The Reds, who got that postseason spot and faced the Dodgers on the road, were left out of the lottery.

The draft lottery might disincentivize tanking, but it doesn't always disincentivize losing.

If you see Christian Yelich today be sure to wish him a happy 34th birthday.

Maybe don't tell him, however, that I suggested the Brewers might use a Freddy Peralta deal to try to unload his contract: shepherdexpress.com/sports/brewe...
Could Christian Yelich Factor Into a Freddy Peralta Trade?
Brewers intend to keep their payroll in its current limited range then one of the biggest problems they face is that a large percentage of their 2026 budget is tied up in two contracts.
