The president encounters a binder clip for the first time, then talks about it for a while.

Remember when Joe Biden had a raspy voice and every major news organization created a 10-person Biden Is Old investigative team?
Trump: "Whoo. I'm glad my finger wasn't in that sucker. That could've dome some damage but you know what? I wouldn't have shown the pain. I would've gone back. Boy did you hear that? That was nasty. But I would not have shown the pain. I would've acted like nothing happens as my finger fell off."

The moment it was crystal clear we were in the worse case scenario, was exactly a year ago when Trump pardoned every single Jan 6 perpetrator, including the ones that beat the crap out of cops and were convicted of seditious conspiracy.

Emperors don’t need polls.
It is not normal for a president to be pushing for a net -80 policy. That Trump apparently does not care about the public opinion on Greenland (or maybe he doesn't know about the polls) is a sign of how far we have drifted from normal democratic government

One problem Democrats face is that the job of chief electoral strategist (Schumer) is increasingly incompatible with being party leader (also Schumer). Both roles matter, but if you can't use your platform as leader to say what's right because you're too into the game, you don't belong in the job. >

Today on “If a Democrat said this… “
Brooke Rollins is still at it!

"We had run almost 1,000 simulations, and between $3 and $4 is a fair number if you can have access to that food. I just saw new numbers that were run: a full day, meaning 3 full square meals and a snack, is about $15.64."

Federal immigration agents forced open a door and detained a U.S. citizen in his Minnesota home at gunpoint without a warrant, then led him out onto the streets in his underwear in subfreezing conditions, according to his family and videos reviewed by The Associated Press.

In year since Trump's return to office, here's a list of those targeted by his administration
The DOJ's probe into Jerome Powell is the latest salvo in what critics call a campaign of retribution since Donald Trump returned to the presidency one year ago.

It's hard to even explain what a disaster this is for the US economy in the short-term — as well as US innovation and industry in decades to come. Immigrants and foreign students at our universities are—as always have been—the wellspring of American invention and innovation.

Once again, either we're going to get more Bill Kristols & a new center-right pro-democracy party, or we're not going to have democracy anymore. Democrats win every election forever & we only have one half of the 🇺🇸 political spectrum going forward are not solutions. They're delusional fantasies.
There remain only two solutions to our authoritarian problem, & both involve the remaining Republicans who care about democracy & the rule of law making hard choices. Democrats cannot do this for them. It requires a national front & a new center-right party of Bill Kristols

Kinda funny that Trump thinks "asylum" means other countries send people from insane asylums, and a) this is real life, not a ham-handed Idiocracy-type satire, b) he has surely been corrected several times but is incapable of updating his priors, & c) most media politely agree not to mention it.
