Culver City just made history, and it has something to do with these big boxy fortress style apartment buildings ….

I've watched many videos about how staircase requirements prevent us from building three-flats that historically brought gentle density to places like Chicago and San Francisco. Exciting to see my city doing something about it!
The rent is too damn high! Not building huge hallways in apartment complexes can help.

Single stair reform is coming to Culver City Council TONIGHT!

Our campaign wouldn’t have a shot if our elections had not been consolidated with the general. Holding elections in off years keeps turnout low and maintains the status quo

On the Westside, we feel this housing crisis every day.

Which is why I’m proud that Culver City, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica have all endorsed SB-79 to allow for more homes near transit, where they’re needed most.

Measure CL is supported by the local #CulverCity Democratic Club. Did you vote?
hey Culver City, last week you should have received a ballot in the mail with just one yes or no question.

Here’s why you should vote ✅ YES ✅ on Measure CL 🗳️

I just left the Everglades Immigrant Interment Camp. No, I’m not using their ridiculous name. It was a very tough to witness humans in those cages. Every Floridian should be ashamed that our taxpayer money is being used for this.

have the people who thought Cuomo would win because "I stand with Israel" was the top issue for NYC Dem primary voters considered that maybe they are trapped in an information bubble by getting their news through a social media platform that isn't representative of reality?

Inspiring to watch a Muslim progressive win in the most Jewish city in the country.

We’re so much bigger than the big money PACs that try so hard to pit us against each other.

Big news! Last night, Culver City passed a budget with historic investments in:

🏡 93 affordable homes for low income families
💰 a brand new community-driven budget process
🧑‍💻 new grant writer / sr management position for parks and rec

Culver City is moving forward!

Today some cowards in face masks harassed and detained innocent people while they were at work.

This is shameless, disgusting racism and LA won't stand for it.

We will always stand up for our immigrant neighbors.

I feel like we need to keep saying this because it’s so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.
The Department of Homeland Security denied Mahmoud Khalil permission to attend the birth of his first child, who was delivered at a New York hospital on Monday, according to emails reviewed by The New York Times.
Mahmoud Khalil’s Son Arrives After ICE Refuses to Let Him Attend Birth
Mr. Khalil, a permanent resident detained in Louisiana, had requested a monitored furlough for the birth. His request was denied in less than an hour.

RIP professor and author Donald Shoup who showed us the heavy toll we all pay when we build communities around cars instead of people. He lived to see parking minimums be abolished in much of our cities thanks to @repfriedmanca.bsky.social and Shoup’s decades of research at UCLA.

in 1990 seattle grabbed swaths of land to upzone hoping to create 100k homes. the debate that upzones cause displacement is a myth. over the next 30 years, the black population cratered in single family zoned areas and grew where housing growth was allowed. density has saved our city’s diversity
