100% convinced we’re going to push that rock up and over the hill.

Interesting thread, and I think potentially much more important than it may seem.
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

Incredible new frontiers opening within Wife Guydom.
"Were" in werewolf is from the old English "wer", meaning man. The old english for woman was "wif", which is where we get wife from.

So a girl with lycanthropy would actually be a wifewolf

For 15 paragraphs, this article does not acknowledge that *someone* shot the victim. Then, in the 16th paragraph, in passive voice, it explains that “[t]he shot was fired from inside the house by one of the residents.”

What a strange way to report on the world!

The Trump Administration is tying itself in knots in its attempt to justify the unjustifiable—the deployment of military troops to American streets in peacetime.

We urge the Supreme Court to rein in this lawlessness.

#NEWS: The court has agreed to resume consideration of our case to block Trump’s federalization and deployment of CA national guard in Los Angeles.

This is good news for California and democracy. Our National Guard is not the Trump Administration’s personal army.
The Trump Admin believes it can keep California’s National Guard federalized and deployed wherever, forever, and for any purpose — no further justification necessary.

That is just not true, and we’re asking the court to issue a ruling that says as much without delay. oag.ca.gov/news/press-r...

The people who still call me “Mr Mayor” around town are almost entirely grocery workers, crossing guards, and bus operators. I take that as a sign of success in what I wanted to do with my brief time in politics, but then again I lost after one term. In short, idk, go volunteer to knock on doors.
right. given the numbers, “how to win back the working class” should be as much about care and service workers as hard hats. and yet.

👀 From the press release:
“Some California landlords have tried to get away with illegal rent increases by shifting utilities and other fees to tenants and pretending those new charges are not ‘rent’ under the TPA. That violates the law.”
Together with the Marin County District Attorney's Office, we’ve secured a settlement with a property management company over its unlawful rent-increase practices and other violations of state and local tenant protection laws in San Rafael, Novato, and other North Bay cities.
