My secret dream job is music supervisor/director for a TV show. We live in a golden age of shows sending us to the credits with the perfect song playing and the in-episode songs are usually just as good. I extra appreciate nostalgia shows that hit the mark.

The theme song is a bit of a letdown but everything else about the premiere of White Lotus was full scale “we’re back baby”. I’m already set to wrap Carrie Coon in the biggest of hugs and love Walton Goggins in spite of everything so it’s all perfect.

I’ve had many convos with friends in which they have shocked me with what they bring with them to work because it’s not in the office. I’ve spent most of my time in DC working for small nonprofits and still viewed a stocked office kitchen (with water, coffee, mugs,etc) as the default.
not trying to pick on this guy. this just reminded me that the federal government does not provide coffee to workers. to drink coffee at a federal office you generally have to pay into a "coffee club" that is managed by a staffer who volunteers to collect money and purchase a monthly coffee supply.

I watched the Yacht Rock documentary on Max this weekend and I am READY.
THIS. This. This. Doom scrolling and nonstop fighting isn't going to save anything and it's going to burn people out. The world is dark and scary and dangerous but there's still beauty and light and fun out there.
The people complaining that other people enjoyed the Super Bowl and how can you enjoy something so meaningless in the face of fascism?
Go have some fun. You won’t make it if you don’t set some time aside for yourself to have some fucking fun. Fascists want you to be miserable. Don’t help them.
