I’ve been very consciously trying not to edit myself on social media in particular lately because I am too damn old to care what other people think and joy is so fucking hard to come by right now, and honestly guys it’s great.
Just saw a reel that said "I'd rather be cringe to a stranger than a stranger to myself," and that's the energy I'm taking into 2026.
Yeah, I can be "cringe" to some people with all my enthusiasm for my interests and passions.

I’ve had a story brewing in my head for years and I have no idea how exactly to pull it off (it will require A Lot of research) but I think it’s time I just start and figure that out as I go.
This set of observations is produced by my scrolling Reddit and otherwise listening to people talk about "how to write."
A) there is no requirement that any of your characters has any sort of "arc" let alone a redemption.
B) there is also no requirement that your fiction has a plot.

Survived getting laid off and managed to land a job making 50% more. Survived a whole bunch of health shit and actually feel much better than I did this time last year. Traveled to four countries despite the aforementioned health shit.

I know I’ve talked about this before but the sheer volume of crap you have to do to keep up when you have a chronic illness is exhausting. I have an appointment every week or two from here to April, plus I’m changing insurance in a month so that will inevitably be a whole thing, plus lab work.

it was one of the worst parts of Twitter & there was an impulse to not do it back in Bluesky Before Times but now if you tell people "actually this sucks" they'll tell you it's praxis to quote-dunk trash takes & that shitting up the timeline is Good, Actually and "exposes bigots to sunlight" or w/e
