What’s actually happening in your brain when you suddenly go blank? 🧠🧪

Scientists now think “mind blanking” might actually be your brain’s way of hitting the reset button.

A bit of Canadian history I hadn’t run into before. “Toronto’s Fireman and Clown Brothel Riot”
On July 12, 1855, some drunk clowns got into a massive brawl with a bunch of firefighters at a Toronto brothel.
By the next day, several firefighters were beaten and the circus was burned to the ground.
This is the story of Toronto's Firemen And Clown Brothel Riot.

It turns out the Science Centre’s roof still has more integrity than the Ford government. Fixing it was important. But closing it was unnecessary. This was a manufactured crisis.

Fascinating image. I may be completely wrong, but I've marked up a copy of the image with my interpretation. Objects appear in pairs either side of the lensing galaxy (same coloured ovals). I've also made a "side-on" diagram explaining the light paths. Seem plausible? More explanation in ALT text.

Apple Maps Now Shows Indigenous Lands in Australia and New Zealand
Apple Maps Now Shows Indigenous Lands in Australia and New Zealand
Starting today, the Apple Maps app on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac now displays Indigenous lands in Australia and New Zealand, such as reserves and protected areas. In a press release, Apple said the mapping updates were informed by Indigenous peoples, cartographers, language holders, and others in each country. In Australia, Apple said it referenced language data published by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. In New Zealand, Apple said it collaborated with local Māori tribes and Indigenous cartographers to develop detailed place cards and map icons for Indigenous lands in the country. The place cards feature information about the local area, and communities can update them with destinations, photos, and text in their own languages. The mapping updates are available now, with no software updates required. More details about these mapping updates, and Apple's recent community initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, can be found in Apple's press release.Tag: Apple Maps This article, "Apple Maps Now Shows Indigenous Lands in Australia and New Zealand" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

In 1890, the Tariff Act came into place in the United States. It placed tariffs on imports of up to 50%.
While touted as a way to build American industry, there was also the hope it would force an annexation of Canada. It backfired.
Let's learn more.

CR was definitely an underestimating guide. Most parties easily overpower the ‘official’ CR stats especially if they have more than 4 party members. Finding the balance can be tricky - but as the DM there are things you know the players don’t. Bad guys can act human - changing the encounter.
OK, so let me breakdown the root problem of CR. It was terrible in 2014 and it remains terrible in 2025. It ignores how we actually play the game and is a millstone around the 5e system. It also explains why low level 5e works.

But why is that? Check the image below.
