Where is the satire 😢

It seems to be done in a way that keeps things secure. Not a hack it looks like.
So maybe it can continue.

I replaced so many top cases (with keyboard) and screen bezels on those models for cracked plastics.

I’m not a minority, but because of where I work I could be detained (or just denied entry) at the border.
My last trip to the US was April, a trip that had been booked nearly a year in advance, well before the election. I still wiped work stuff from my devices. Won’t be going back for years.

AI bullshit. I’ve been blocking so many accounts on FB lately.
Don’t have to here on Bluesky very often (of course some blocklists help by getting the worst stuff blocked automatically, so much better for mental health)

They are both breaks for the rich.
It looks like over 80-90% of able bodied adults on SNAP do work (which can include seasonal work, or be between jobs)
October 29, 2025 at 5:53 PM
That doesn’t include the over 500,000 that have it blocked automatically through blocklists.

The M5 CPU performance is comparable to the M1 Ultra (or M3 Max)
GPU it’s more between the early Pro & Max (M1 or M2) in general, but with Mesh or Ray-Tracing it’s likely closer to the Max.
Internal + 2 ext screens.
The rest of the laptop is the same, that says low-end Pro to me.

The Winter Classic is announced. (Panthers vs Rangers)

The next Heritage Classic hasn’t been announced yet.

30 days isn’t enough. Being able to set a time up to 90 is more than reasonable.

We keep the previous version updated with the security updates it still gets. Then move to the new version by X.2 or X.3 when not only has Apple fixed any major bugs, but developers have had time to fix any issues that come up. - e.g. the API change that electron had to make for UI performance.

If they built the rest of the hardware & software for lower power usage, that likely could easily be 6-8x, possibly over 10x. The efficiency cores sip power. (Screen of course is one of the biggest power drains over time. CPU performance cores can spike higher)
e-Ink tablets get 2 weeks to months.

Just based on battery capacity compared with the iPhone 3G it would be 4.3x, not including any other improvements in hardware power efficiency. (17 Pro Max 5088mAh vs iPhone 3G 1150 mAh)

Apple has always been a follower in Tech. They are almost always after other companies - even full screen smart phones were done by others before Apple (none were large scale sales)
They tend to refine existing tech rather than trailblaze.
October 8, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Then why is no other company mass producing such batteries? I’ve been digging and am not seeing anything other than Si/C actually used in competing phones.
Graphene-silicon stories are mostly from 2024 - a few follow-ups claiming it’s coming, but no concrete dates or products with it.
October 8, 2025 at 1:19 PM
Graphene-Silicon seems to be military first (so far) likely do to initial costs
October 8, 2025 at 1:16 PM
Si/C is a 10-15% improved capacity, not a 3x jump. (Starting to be used in some phones out of China)
Graphene-Silicon promises to “double capacity” - but they are still relatively early in ramping up production. (*At the same volume & weight the actual specs are about 50% more charge)
October 8, 2025 at 1:14 PM
Also production volume - could enough be made to keep up with the millions that would be needed.
And proven safety (this one is more likely - most of the new battery tech are less likely to get runaway thermals compared with Li-ion)
If such a battery existed that met these criteria they would use it
October 8, 2025 at 1:04 PM
Apple tends to do more testing of new tech before using. It was several years before they used OLED after other companies just as one example.

It may provide more power per volume & weight, but does it still last enough charge cycles (even if it would only need to go 1/3 as many)

That is your take away?
Not the parts about ignoring the rules of engagement?

I fully have an auditory learning disability, so I learn visually significantly better.

Autism first defined in 1911 (as part of Schizophrenia), so well before.

Good catch.
Connected, but not obviously so, wouldn’t be the first place I would go for sure.
September 17, 2025 at 3:42 PM
It is for sure a significant update to the base model
