After diving into the frigid San Francisco Bay and paddling more than a mile, a coyote surfaced on Alcatraz Island. One video shows the coyote struggling onto the rocky shore.

It is the first documented coyote on Alcatraz since the island was transferred to the National Park Service in 1972.

Senate Dems should shut down government, but remember what @schumer.senate.gov said last year

“I believe it is my job...to minimize the harms to the American people. Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down."

At least he's learning...

The minority leader's remarks are a clear indication that the Senate will vote to advance a GOP stopgap.

AOC: They need 10 Democratic votes in the Senate to pass, continued unfettered ICE funding with no guardrails. Regardless of where you are in the Democratic party, this moment proves that the status quo cannot stand

I would implore my Democratic colleagues in the senate to vote no

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

This is NOT symbolic. If Dems adopt this position as a caucus, ICE get reined in. Full stop. Not after Trump, not after the midterms - NOW. Call your Dem rep and senators and tell them to back this play today.

Why is Trump fixated on Greenland? @sbg1.bsky.social recalls what he told us in 2021: "I said, 'Why don’t we have that?' You take a look at a map...I love maps. And I always said 'Look at the size of this, it’s massive and that should be part of the United States.'" www.newyorker.com/news/letter-...

Not a bald eagle, not even a raptor from the US. Photo was taken in Israel.

Windmills definitely do kill birds and bats, but fossil fuels cumulatively kill more.

If only Donald Trump had ever seen a bald eagle up close…

AMAZING turnout in Santa Fe to protect our cherished public lands from disposal. Senate Republicans want to liquidate our favorite campsites & hiking trails so billionaires can build private playgrounds & lock the rest of us out. Not on our watch.
Protest outside the Western Governors Association conference in Santa Fe going on right now.

Protestors are chanting "Not for sale"

This is in opposition to Mike Lee's attempt to sell off up to 3 million acres of national public lands.
