Glorifying violence or harm violates Bluesky’s Community Guidelines. We review reports and take action on content that celebrates harm against anyone. Violence has no place in healthy public discourse, and we’re committed to fostering healthy, open conversations

Horrific to hear that Charlie Kirk was shot today in Utah. Political violence must be always and totally rejected. Praying for him and all who may have been injured or impacted.

Yes. But they are missing that much of this has to be performative. That’s what Trump is great at and Dems are awful at.

You can’t just tell voters , you have to know how to sell voters.

Trump gives sales pitches, Dems show charts. One goes viral. The other is ignored and forgotten
This was the way.

I think something we don't appreciate enough as a society is that for the majority of human history hearing a particular piece of music was only possible if you could find someone in a public place/event playing it, owned an instrument/knew it yourself, or were rich and could employ a musician.

if I could summarize my theoretical framework here, I would say that you cannot sustain density without transit and you can’t keep prices low in growing cities without density.

UPDATE: The NYT has FINALLY mentioned that a Chinese national being prosecuted by the SEC for fraud, Justin Sun, has made a multi-million dollar payment to Donald Trump by purchasing tokens from a Trump-backed crypto company.

“You can build cars; but you can’t make any money on them and can’t sell them to people living in places where residents own more expensive cars.”
“You can build new housing; but you can’t make any money on it and you can’t build anything in single family neighborhoods” is not a serious proposal for ending the housing shortage!
If you've got a housing shortage, you really do just need to make it easier to build housing. Too many Dem politicians think the way forward is to make homebuilding easier in some ways while layering on new requirements to make sure it doesn't get *too* easy.

Evidence has demonstrated this effect in numerous cities now.

I understand why it sounds weird to say, 'building a bunch of fancy new townhouses and skyscrapers will make housing more affordable!' but it simply appears to be true.
So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

Exactly. In a corrupt society, corruption becomes the only rational choice. It then becomes almost impossible to eradicate. "I thought I was sending a message home: *don't do this.* But here we are."

It can both be true that Hunter Biden was selectively prosecuted and that this is a terrible decision that abets political corruption and lawlessness. Most Americans will understand this as special treatment, which it is, and will shrug off the coming lawlessness as business as usual.

I think this is a bad move. If Hunter didn’t want to go to prison, he shouldn’t have done crimes.

We’re entering flu season with bird flu raging among US dairy cattle: ~third of CA herds infected.

The danger is flu viruses have a trick: they can swap segments —one farmworker co-infected by human and avian flu— to cause pandemics.

We may get lucky. I hope so.
