OK. Here's the thing. You just can't put on a jacket and pretend to be a security patrol in the UK. It's actually illegal. Who the actual F are these "Essex Spartans"? Government has laws and rules and they need to enforce them.

I'm not sure if others have noticed this, but interesting that one of the Prescott criticisms of the BBC is based on those of the 'History Reclaimed' group, which is also associated with the 'Restore Trust' group's attacks on & so far unsuccessful attempts to take control of the National Trust. 1/3

If you are going to claim you didn’t incite an insurrection then perhaps best not to incite an insurrection in front of tv cameras and especially if you don’t have a current tv licence!

I wondered about jurisdiction too. Also whether one wonky edit didn't invalidate the sting of the alleged libel. Or whether the BBC could argue it didn't substantially harm the reputation of the convicted felon and adjudicated rapist who is in the Epstein files.

This was my first thought. BBC runs a defence of truth, gets a High Court to determine as a matter of fact whether his comments amounted to incitement for the purposes of assessing whether the report was a fair depiction.

I’m not a defamation barrister, but I’d love to see the BBC say, bring it on and prove the defamation, that is, that he didn’t cause the Jan 6th insurrection. We could then end up with a Queensbury v Wilde type trial. Boom!

Coal generation in Spain 🇪🇸 has dropped 97% since the early 2000s, making up just 1% of the country’s power mix so far this year. The payoff? Cleaner air and 95% drop in emissions from coal power in ten years.

The facility has a capacity of 300MW/600MWh.
Much larger batteries are under development: A huge 1 GW / 4 GWh system is being constructed in Jänschwalde, Germany.

The fundamental point about the Trump/BBC scandal is: Did Trump incite an insurrection?
1. If he did, the BBC edit was justified.
2. If he didn't, the BBC edit was not justified.
3. The Trump regime says he didn't.
4. Facts and an indictment trial say he did.
5. Let's decide that in a British court.
