So the Welsh Tories want to form a "reserve service" of former NHS workers to prop up the NHS in Wales.

Are they going to conscript them?

No doubt this is why Musk and co are so anti-EU - ensuring customers don't buy products forever toed to one tech is the sort of thing they legislate against.
Australia's household battery boom suffers from the same walled-garden ecosystem lock-in that's been enshittifying tech across so many different areas

Imagine what's going to happen when Tesla collapses under the weight of its own racism and bigotry, for instance......
Australia’s home battery boom risks locking households into closed ecosystems
Many households only realise after installation they’ve bought a battery system that is locked to a single manufacturer’s software.

Twice as many people watched the #WinterOlympics on BBC2 last night compared to the #FACup on BBC1. A reminder that for many in this country sport goes much beyond football.

Forget the “but” in this headline.

🔥 PALESTINE ACTION BAN RULED UNLAWFUL

That means that this authoritarian government has arrested, hauled off the street and jailed thousands of peaceful protestors… unlawfully.

That’s seismic.
Palestine Action ban ruled unlawful but group remains proscribed for now
It remains in place for now to allow further legal argument and the government to consider an appeal.

BBC2 really should have stayed with the #WinterOlympics at least another 10 minutes to reflect more on the biggest shock of the games so far rather than switched to filler programming.

NBC have three Olympic studios all in Milan, 4 hours away from the bulk of the action and each one uglier than the last.

So of course after immediately tearing up protections for the trans community as soon as the supreme court cruelly ruled against their existence the government are stalling on a ban against an anti-genocide group being declared unlawful.

The reminiscing of #DawsonsCreek in the wake of James Van der Beeks death makes you think about how TV has changed in 25 years.

Back then scripted content was plentiful and largely free - now TV is mostly a subscription model. Viewers didn't ask for this change - tech billionaires manipulated it.

Asked if Ratcliffe was right to apologise for his racist statement about Britain having been “colonised” by immigrants, Farage replies,
'It’s probably in the dictionary definition correct, but perhaps people aren't quite ready for it’

No. It’s not, Nigel. It’s just racist. And wrong. Much like you.

Cuts to the BBC like to any public service do nothing but damage Britain. And the truth is there are no amount of cuts (even 100%) that would appease the BBC critics.

As I said the other day I think the team event routines should gave to be different. Indeed it's clearly only a filler medal event to sell more tickets - might be more interesting if replaced by a duos event where two have to compete both as a pair and individually. #WinterOlympics

As ever only @bylinesnetwork.co.uk following the actual story. Whilst the main media concentrates on Mandelson and Andrew the real political story is the uncomfortable truth we always knew - Brexit and the rise of the right didn't come from within Britain but from those seeking to weaken the UK.
A decade on, Brexit still damages the UK’s economy, security and standing. The Epstein files sharpen an uncomfortable truth: democracy wasn’t subverted by “the people”, but by those who fear democratic limits most.
