I wish we, like, regulated shit nowadays. Between car bloat, blinding headlines, and neighbourhoods packed with rental suites but no on-property parking, driving is an absolute nightmare now.
Nearly all drivers say vehicles' lights are too bright in study
The study, commissioned by the Department for Transport, was completed by Berkshire's TRL.

Caveat emptor: the TV ad showing three sweetly smiling women in their 60s sliding down a snowy hill on saucers is not realistic. I tried that with my granddaughter after age 60 and it looked nothing like that. Speed on snow hits different in your seventh decade.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

They shall not grow old
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.

Decades of research show the harm children experience from living in poverty: lower birth weight, reduced access to nutritious foods that support healthy growth and development, chronic stress that damages physical and mental health, barriers to early learning required for future academic success.

ART FACT: Yayoi Kusama's common pumpkin motif represents a symbolic self-portrait or alter ego for the Japanese artist. Her obsession with the pumkin began in her early years when her parents ran a seed farm #Womensart

A poem that manages to be both powerful and a balm for the soul:
I, however,
Have such meagre power,

Clutching at a
Moment,

While you control
An hour.

But your hour is
A stone.

My moment is
A flower.

Deutsche Bank says that an insane amount of capex spent on AI, which cannot be sustained, is the only thing keeping the US out of a recession.

Trump demolished the US economy and we haven't even felt it yet due to the AI craze.

The AI boom is unsustainable unless tech spending goes ‘parabolic,’ Deutsche Bank warns: ‘This is highly unlikely’ | Fortune
“In the absence of tech-related spending, the U.S. would be close to, or in, recession this year,” George Saravelos says.

Neuroscience research reveals that our brains often reward effort after we begin a task, rather than motivating us beforehand. This means that taking action, even when you don’t feel motivated, can trigger the brain’s reward system and actually create motivation along the way.
