At long last, I am excited to finally announce the release of my new album, "Here, Beneath the Ash-Choked Sky", available now on Bandcamp and streaming.

Today I have slowly but surely chipped away at my skyscraping to-do list to lighten the ol' cognitive load and I have to say, it feels good (for those who haven't been following along, I've been quite overwhelmed lately).

Some of my best, most interesting music yet (IMO) is just about ready to go, my head is swimming with ideas & plans, and suddenly DIY music runs face-first into the ice-cold wall of exhaustion from everything else.

Here Is Where It Hurts is out today on @difficultart.bsky.social

This project combines electronics & field recordings with poetic fragments & collage.

“…a collection of half-exposed photographs: layers of hiss and murk obscure fragments of melody that drift eternally in and out of view.“

Sometimes, when I’m really struggling to find anything in this current moment that isn’t about intentional cruelty and limitless greed, I think about the fact that there is music in the world right now that didn’t exist a week ago, or a day ago. Right now, even now, someone is making new music.

Does anybody else need to resist, on a near-daily basis, quoting Father Guido Sarducci in Handsome Boy Modeling School's "Father Speaks" whenever you recommend something?

I've become re-obsessed with Other Lives' album "Tamer Animals" lately. The songs (e.g. "Desert") depress the hell out of me for some reason, even though I'm sure others might not have any idea what I'm talking about. It's great.

Your apparent demand for the incessant stream of Nth anniversary edition 4xLP represses with landfill bonus material makes it less affordable and take more time for new artists to press new music to vinyl. 💡

I'm listening to Xenakis and, as usual, I have difficulty accepting that this music was recorded so long ago (currently listening to "Bohor" (1962)). Has anyone else ever been so ahead of their time?
