The problem here is not that we have this crazy president. The problem is that the country was crazy enough to elect him twice. This means once Trump is gone, we'll elect another as bad as or even worse. No other sane country will deal with us. Maybe California or New York, but not with USA.

I've noticed more political observers saying in plain words that the US has ceased to be a democracy, the legislature has degenerated into a rubber stamping Duma, and fascist oligarchy has rotted out the administration and justice.

Some saw this coming; some will never wake up.

As much as I would like to see a mild, rational good guy leading the democrats, right now we need someone a bit rough around the edges to kick Trump in the balls.
Gavin Newsom just announced that California will be the first state to join the World Health Organization.

This is in direct defiance of Donald Trump, who just pulled the United States out of the organization.

Smart biz is likely looking for products and services to sell to older people, especially in countries like China, where the birth rate has dropped precipitously.

Trump tells the folks at Davos that without the US they'd all be speaking German. What the hell is wrong with German? Goethe and Schiller wrote in German. I like German.

The boomers in the sixties and early seventies mistrusted governmental institutions. Reagan exploited this with his "government is the problem" speech. Now Reagan's anti-institution campfire is a raging MAGA wildfire. Traditional liberal and conservative values play no role here.

Somehow, some time, Trump and his thugs will pay for this.
If you voted for this, if this brings you joy, I LITERALLY HATE YOU.

Who is the modern Dr. Mengele who keeps injecting shit in Trump to keep him alive?

Trump looks like someone with no purpose other than to serve his own demented appetites. A person without purpose is isolated, lonely, vulnerable. A person without purpose has no self justification to exist. This makes him dangerous.

If you think Trump is unique, you have not worked in corporate America. I had some good experiences and good friends there, but still, there were the bloviating, babbling, bubble-brained as well. Jesus. It gives me PTSD.

Who in their right mind would run for office as a republican? Who in their right mind would vote for someone with such poor judgement and lack of a moral compass? Lincoln's party is now a rotting manure heap.

Norway isn't selling yet, but they haven't bought US treasuries in over a year. Interest rates on US bonds are going up, meaning the US is having a harder time finding bond buyers. What else to expect with Trump, who let his casino go bankrupt?

If I understand Mark Carney, Trump may have military strength, but the weaker countries have power if they organize. Power depends on cooperation, honor, honesty, trust, and planning. Trump lacks all of this. He will never have power, and he will lose.

Crooked as a dog’s hind leg.
1/ Imagine you knew the market would crash - like if you were a billionaire friend of the president. With $250, you buy 10 puts. Stock falls from $100 to $80, and boom - $250 turns into $20,000 overnight. Sounds good, right? #Voices4Victory #DV1 #USDemocracy #ProudBlue

Trump worships strength. An individual who forces his will on a group of people has strength. A group of people who organize and resist have power. Strength is in the individual. Power resides between people who are organized. Power defeats strength.

Trump's newly invented peace board is a parallel institution designed to duplicate the work of the United Nations and, so doing, undermine it. As Hannah Arendt describes in the Origins of Totalitarianism, this was a favorite scheme of the Nazis.

From the German newsletter, Der Pioneer: Germans have become more reluctant to openly state their opinion. According to polls, self-censoring is higher in the US at 62%. Is this healthy?

So, impeach. Impeach now. Make the Republicans go on record and live in infamy forever. Get organized. Resist.
