People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.

wild to see every news outlet use the term "capture" to describe what happened. we're not at war with venezuela! this is *objectively* an illegal kidnapping of a sovereign country's leader

Oh yeah, I love this fact. Also, growing up in St. Louis it was a garden variety diss to call someone a Hoosier — kinda akin to redneck or just someone low class, who can say why
nobody knows where the term came from and it’s a state’s entire identity!
what in the actual fuck is a Hoosier

Today, we're tackling a big question: Will AI make us stupid?

There are claims that LLMs like ChatGPT will torpedo our critical-thinking skills — and there's a ton of hand-wringing over the effect they could have on students. So ... what does the research say?? 👇🧪

I've had a bee in my bonnet about this topic for MONTHS.

I've wondered if concerns about generative AI & our brains are a bit of Luddite pearl-clutching (fwiw sometimes I am a Luddite pearl-clutcher 😬) or if there's really reason to worry.

@merylhorn.bsky.social to the rescue! Great listen 👇

Health providers are rejecting ACIP's guidance on hepatitis B vaccine and follow the AAP instead. Does that put them in legal jeopardy?

Sometimes people are like "aren't you worried about the kids and their nonsensical new brainrot memes"

But like, the thing is, I can still spot a member of my internet generation by how they respond to "badger badger badger badger"

Playing with language and rhythm is fun, it'll be fine!
One of the things we've enjoyed the most about the six-seven phenomenon is the way it comes with a gesture, which we've also seen represented in emoji form as:
🫴 six-seven 🫳
“6-7” belongs in the dictionary, actually

This is not in line with the best science we have if we want to protect babies from hep B 🧪
ACIP has voted 8-3 to change the infant vaccination schedule for hepatitis B. Meissner, Hibbeln, Pollack voted no. Here's the language.

People don't get sucked in by information for funsies, or because they're not smart 🧪
Confusion around vaccines rarely comes from a lack of caring. It comes from the sheer volume of conflicting claims people encounter every day. And when misinformation spreads faster than evidence, straightforward explanations become essential. Here, we address common vaccine myths.
