We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:

TIL that Dick Blick has a selection of sewing items (including basic machines!) on their website. I don't think most things are carried in store, but if they do have basic notions in store it could be another option for those with one nearby.

Hey, I didnt want to keep pushing this out there, but I wasnt expecting to end up in hospital and miss a week’s worth of work (best guess is that I’m discharged on Tuesday) when my wife is also off work for medical reasons.

I took yesterday off from work and basically spent my day seam ripping. It was honestly the best thing I could've done as it forced me to take a needed day of rest.
It'll still take time for me to climb back from the last few months but I'm taking each day as it comes.
