70 years ago today, Donald Campbell broke the world water speed record, after six years of trying. A new world record of 202mph was set, smashing the previous mark of 178mph

On this day in 2018, #BluebirdK7 ran for the first time since 1967, with crew training runs on Loch Fad during her 23-year restoration. She is due to run on Coniston Water next year

At the anniversary of Donald Campbell’s first world water speed record in #BluebirdK7 on 23 July the boat was visited by a car that Donald Campbell may have driven at the time. The prototype AC Aceca is rumoured to have been loaned to Campbell between 1954 and 1956, though there’s no direct evidence

Here's an exclusive shot of the faithfully recreated Monument to the Queensway (Mersey) Tunnel in Liverpool, which topped out in recent days.

The 60ft Art Deco light beacon was originally one of a pair, designed by Herbert Rowse in 1934 to celebrate the engineering and construction of the tunnel.

Today in 1940 at 1:50pm Pilot Officer Noel Agazarian takes off in #SpitfireR6915. It is the aircraft's first operational patrol with No.609 Squadron, Royal Air Force. With three other pilots from B Flight, Agazarian patrols Portland at 20,000 feet.
