it is not big or clever to be smug about estimates of how much you can raise by taxing billionaires. The point is that perceived fairness is the foundation of tax compliance - if you allow people to start thinking the middle class bears the whole burden, then you are undermining the entire system.

Rpublicans "do not trust news media" not because it is shoddy, peddles untruths, and regularly misleads people. In fact the news media they consume ALL THE TIME is provenly culpable of these errors (see Dominion vs Fox). They don't trust it because it reflects a world view they don't agree with.
