On the subject of World Cup boycotts, this is a story which ought to be much better known: why African countries decided not to compete for a place at the 1966 tournament. One of Fifa's most shameful moments, which hardly ever gets a mention.

How Africa boycotted the 1966 World Cup
The BBC's Piers Edwards explains the little-known story behind the African boycott to the 1966 World Cup, the only World Cup in history to have been snubbed by an entire continent.

Disconnected for the first time in a long time this afternoon. Left the phone at home and jumped on the bicycle for 10ks.

Absolute bliss.

We've all got our passions and causes but remember to take a break folks. You'll be better for it.

We all love a whinge and moan about the game on social media, but where the rubber hits the road is in the face to face interactions with football leaders, be it at Football Australia, APL or Member federations.

Unsure about the Social Media ban for youngins? Read this and you'll be all for it.

While I'm not sure the ban has been implemented perfectly I do believe smart phones, front facing cameras and excessive SM use is damaging young minds.

As a parent, I'm stoked with the ban.

Hearing locally here in Perth, that #MilanComo in #Perth is dead in the water after failing to receive necessary approvals from AFC.

If so, it's a win for football, loyal fans and common sense... And don't we need that currently...

To give England cricket a bit of credit, I just heard a really touching story of how the team stopped over in India on the way to Australia to play in the #Ashes2025. The players had some down-time so they decided to visit an orphanage in one of the poorer districts of Mumbai.
