Trump's USDA says it can’t disburse SNAP benefits on November 1 because of the shutdown.
SNAP is an entitlement program. They could *easily* find the $8 billion.
Meanwhile, they’re sending $40 BILLION to bail out Argentina, screwing American farmers in the process.

Any distribution of goods as needs is a by product, ironically an externality, of the goal of efficient distribution of goods as commodities- things of fiscal value. Why have a farm when a parking lot creates value more efficiently? Why deliver safe foodstuffs if tainted garbage = more profit? 3/3

It is the embodiment of the argument ad absurdum of why "free market" capitalism is a poor way to run an "economy" (from the Greek oikonomia and the truncation of "political economy"). It does not produce an efficient way of distributing needs among those who labor to produce them. 2/3
