More advice for incoming Mayor Mamdani: Free buses better not have a negative implication for the MTA’s Access-A-Ride service:
Opinion: Free Buses Can’t Come at Paratransit Riders’ Expense - Streetsblog New York City
Critically missing from the discourse on free buses are the implications a fare-free system would have for the MTA’s Access-A-Ride.

Listen to Bernie

there’s no debate that a

doubling

tripling &

quadrupling

of premiums will result

and when 15 million people lose coverage altogether, 50,000 people will die each year unnecessarily
Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

“Redistricting is always a gamble. To create more GOP seats, mapmakers have to siphon off Republican voters from existing districts, making each one a little less safe. That kind of overreach is called a “dummymander”—when a party stretches its base too thin in pursuit of extra seats. “
