This Veterans Day I reflect on what I learned from my grandpa who fought in WWII and my husband who served in Kosovo & Iraq. They have taught me the power of service, responsibility to our democracy, and valor beyond measure. Our veterans deserve so much more from the VA and from our government.

Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.
Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

Fun fact about me: I’m a writer and the first book I ever published is a children’s book called “Because we chose to love you”. It is a children’s book for all families. I wrote it when I was a child therapist teaching three and four year-olds who had experienced abuse.

Donald Trump and his cronies shut down the government because they’ve decided making people’s health care more expensive was more important than keeping the government running. This shut down is no surprise to folks who were around for the last government shutdown that was also Donald Trump’s fault.
