This Veterans Day I reflect on what I learned from my grandpa who fought in WWII and my husband who served in Kosovo & Iraq. They have taught me the power of service, responsibility to our democracy, and valor beyond measure. Our veterans deserve so much more from the VA and from our government.

Sen Dems are about to cave to Repubs. They want to vote on a deal to reopen the government with a mere PROMISE to work on health care. A promise? REALLY? Ummm…I don’t think we should be trusting a PROMISE. This will erode all trust between House & Senate. www.axios.com/2025/11/09/s...

Today is Indigenous Peoples Day. I went and saw the film Free Leonard Peltier. I just can’t stop thinking about my dad. Chief Seattle once said. “Our dead people are not completely helpless.” This government has consistently been separating us from our spirits. And they will not prevail.

Militarized immigration isn’t a new problem. This nation was founded on the disappearance of brown people.
No one is illegal on stolen land. As Congresswoman, I will work to end militarization of the border. Policies should be about a fair path to citizenship. Dehumanization is unacceptable.
