Giving the gift of negative data 🥰

Since I joined @lsajournal.org I have handled several stellar manuscripts that report null results. These papers do very well and reviewers almost always appreciate them!

Thanks @rockefeller.edu news team for the article!

I realised that the rules (that an editor for a Nature journal pointed out to me) completely forbids me to discuss the a paper under review with colleagues (even particular the ones that reviewed the same paper).

When Czech President Petr Pavel announced early 2024 that he will organize 1.5 million artillery shells for Ukraine many people were in doubt if this would materialize. Up to this day Czechia successfully organized 1.8 million shells. Well done!

The thing about measles is that it’s the only known virus that triggers immune amnesia - it causes your immune system to forget everything it has previously learned. Meaning you essentially reset to zero and are now at risk of basically everything.

It can take 2-3 years to get immunities back.

We are increasingly coming to a point where it actually is Europe that is fighting Russia, only the burden is extremely unevenly shared. For Ukraine the war is existential but it's becoming clear to other Europeans that it is existential for them too.

A little history class. Sevastopol used to be a naval base. The Russians had warships there. That's all history now though.
Russian monitoring channels report mass Ukrainian drone attack on occupied Sevastopol from the sea. Numerous UAVs spotted heading toward the city.

Finland 1939 vs. Ukraine 2022.

Soviet forces invaded Finland on 30 Nov 1939, while claiming not to threaten Finnish sovereignty. The Soviet goal was to march into Helsinki & seize control. The attempt was stopped by fierce resistance, much like the march into Kyiv in 2022.
