Post-retirement guitarist, former actor & teacher, dreamer….I just want the world to make sense, but it doesn’t. Guess we’ll always have Paris—just no Paris Accords….
I’m just so tired of that boorish voice saying such mean & stupid things from that ugly face of hate.

Just go away so we can clearly see what we have to clean up.

My God. Can 2025 get any worse? SCRATCH THAT—I don’t want to tempt Fate at this point.

Here’s a cute fur-baby to hopefully make you all smile.

So, Joe Biden is “Sleepy Joe,” & he is treated as a doddering old man by the press at every turn. Trump falls asleep while Little Marco is speaking about him TO him @ cabinet meeting & MSM has nothing to say about that.

What a crock of shit.

Somebody put that poisonous, narcoleptic FELON to bed.

Always an interesting perspective from one of my favorite follows. Excellent writing & literal food for thought—and recipes! (Did I mention the recipes?)

The game I play on my phone offers bonuses for watching short ads, and the one I see most frequently is for an AI assistant. A guy lifting weights, laughing at the “coaching tips” from his AI buddy.

We’re a stone’s throw from AI locking us out of the ship.

Nuts.

Not that it’s important in the grand scheme of things, but what the heck happened to the Wings?

Can’t depend on ANYTHING right now….

While millions of Americans went hungry … the government thought it necessary to waste tax dollars prosecuting a man for throwing a sandwich.

They’re wasting money trying to determine if a sandwich can be a weapon.

A sandwich is a sandwich. You know what it can do?

Feed people. Let’s do that.

My wife is happy—the Dodgers pulled it out in extra innings. What a great game that was! She has me watching baseball again, after 30 years of letting 1995 destroy my fandom.

And NOW—it’s HOCKEY SEASON.

This. And remember, donating to the food bank is important, now more than ever. You never know when you will be the light in someone's dark.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Question for @weissmann.substack.com - maybe for next week's podcast? Is there any legal action that can be taken to force Mike Johnson to swear in US Rep elect Adelita Grijalva?

I must have missed this the first time, but it’s quite fascinating. Hard to imagine the POTATO—the world’s most perfect food source, perhaps?—was not always popular.

And the recipe! Must try.
Just to be open with you guys, I’ve been facing a really rough week and am going through a bad time. I’m trying to write & cook for my substack but it’s a struggle just for the moment. So I’m going to share some favorite posts & recipes of mine….

When watching video of really good guitar players, I’m always struck by how smoothly and calmly they change from each chord to the next. I long for that fluidity.

Boy, did I ever need this today!

Jamie combines a fabulous recipe with a message of hope she drags out of the ancient empire of Greece.

If her cooking is half as good as her writing, I seriously have to get my heinie to France, poste haste!
Bravo, Jamie! And thank you!

Why are we taking health advice from a former heroin user who carries road kill home in his trunk? Absolutely irresponsible to have that ass-hat heading up HHS.

People are DYING.

Weight-maintenance phase has reached more than a month: 201 this morning, after enjoying sushi with my bride.

Finished another personal song, and now I have two that I can’t play anywhere but here…so far.

Good morning!
Finally reached my goal weight—once!—now in maintenance phase. Goal to stay at 200-205 for 1 year.

Had dinner with my eldest brother the other night. Tried to avoid politics, but it finally came up. Inspired a song that I wrote in 20 minutes.

As soon as it is smooth, I will share. ✌🏻
